Evan's Learning to Drive

Ok, not quite, but he does have a little Jeep that Ben & Diana let him use. It's just one more thing to keep him entertained. And entertained he is... take a look:

Icky Icky Icky

My son is easily amused, as demonstrated by this little video I took with my cell phone. I can pretty much say anything I want to him, over and over, and he finds it totally amusing.

Now, I can't use the same material more than once. He's a very demanding audience. He must have new material every time, but, as you can see from this video, the simple words, 'Icky, Icky, Icky,' repeated over and over are enough to keep him giggling.

Photos, Photos, Photos!

I wore this on the Fourth of July, because I'm so patriotic!

Daddy took this photo of me with his new camera.

I am mastering the fine art of Thumb Sucking. Do not bother me... this takes a lot of concentration.

I'm sittin' with Daddy... watchin' Mommy.

Mommy let me wear my Hawaiian shirt because Daddy's out of town. :)

I'm learning to sit up like a Big Boy!

Practicing in my Boppy!

Mommy and Daddy let me drive my own car...

I've just got to adjust this mirror...

Just prior to the throwing up incident... see below. I don't want to talk about it.

Daddy's In Orlando!

This weekend, Robin left for Orlando for the annual ICRS (International Christian Retailer's Show... or something like that) to promote his latest book. Evan and I really miss him.

Yesterday, we tried a video chat, because we can... and Evan just didn't quite get it. He was very upset that Daddy was in the computer and not right there where he could touch him. Every time Robin said something to Evan, Evan would stick his little pout lip out and start screaming.

Eventually, after about 15 minutes, he started getting it and even gave him a little grin.

Evan had a little episode on Saturday, right as we were taking Robin to the airport. We had stopped for a quick dinner at McAlister's and were all enjoying our food... Evan was eating peas, when suddenly, without warning, Evan threw up every single little bit of the peas he had just eaten. It just kept coming. I've never seen anything like it... poor little guy.

I scooped him up and was wiping him down while Robin went up to the counter to inform the workers they had baby vomit to clean up. They were very nice about it. The guy that came over to clean it was super understanding, and the manager came to see if everything was ok. So, GO MCALISTER'S! They remain one of our favorite restaurants.

Evan is feeling MUCH better now. He's gobbling up rice cereal and applesauce like there's no tomorrow. I admit I am relieved he didn't continue to throw up, not just because I don't want him to be sick, but because I would have had to deal with it on my own. Everything is easier to deal with when Robin is around. :)

So, thankfully, that drama did not last long. And Robin will be home soon! In the meantime, let's all enjoy some more cute photos of the little guy!

My friend, Mr. Fred and his family gave me this snazzy basketball outfit. I love it. (and so does my mommy!)

I would really like to be able to crawl. For now, I'm laying on my stomach and flailing my arms and legs. Somehow, I don't think it's quite the same thing.

Daddy's New Camera

Robin got an early birthday present yesterday. It's a shiny new Kodak Easy Share Camera. July is the month of business trips. First, this weekend, he's going to Orlando to ICRS to promote his book, and then at the end of the month, he goes to Comic Con in San Diego.

He was under the incorrect assumption that I would be able to part with our camera for the two weeks he was away. My immediate reaction was 'WHAT!? What if Evan DOES something!?' Meaning... anything. What if he would wear a new outfit? Gosh, I need pictures of that! Looks at me with a cute smile? Yep... I need that, too. Burps? Can I catch it on film? I'll give it a shot. In other words, I really couldn't be separated from the camera at all, so Mom came to the rescue and gave him an early birthday present. Yay Grandma Lu!

So, of course, the first thing he took photos of was our son, and I want to share them with you...

When Mommy shakes her head, her hair makes me laugh... every single time.

Look Daddy! Mommy's making me laugh!

I'm sitting up in a highchair like a big boy. I think I'll throw all my toys over the edge. Woo Hoo!

I love my Mommy...

Mommy brings the food! I really like my green beans. Yum!
